Congratulations to our students who participated in this year’s 2015 Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) National Student Research Poster Competition. The high-profile competition, recently held at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, involved over 300 graduate students.

“The best part of the conference was that it provided me with a rare opportunity to interact and network with graduate students from across Canada,” said LMP graduate student, and Gold Award winner, Yiming Wang. “I owe my success in the competition to Professor Heyu Ni and LMP — both have helped me cultivate my critical thinking skills.”

The poster competition is part of the Canadian Student Health Research Forum, a three-day conference where students can learn about the latest research, present their work and network.

"It's great to see our students' research recognized at this national poster event,” said Professor Harry Elsholtz, LMP Graduate Coordinator. “Our delegates this year work on projects that cross the spectrum of research in LMP including neuro-oncology, endocrinology and metabolism, and haematology. They’ve done a phenomenal job showcasing the kind of research opportunities available to graduate students in our Program."

This year’s LMP winners are:
Xin (Kevin) Wang — Gold Award
Yiming Wang — Gold Award
Sarah Farr — Honourable mention
