Completed Anatomical Pathology Residency Program 2010
I was introduced to the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology while I was a junior medical student during a "Day of the Doctor" assignment. After I returned from my PhD studies as part of the MD/PhD program, I immediately returned to LMP to find additional elective experiences. I was gratified when I was granted a Residency program position in Anatomic Pathology, and made every effort to contribute to the program by playing an active role in committees and events which eventually led to my becoming the inaugural Chief Resident. I had countless valuable experiences with the Staff Pathologists in the department who served as my teachers and mentors, and always felt fully supported by an organized administration staff.
I am now an Assistant Professor in the department and have tried to give back to the program what I gained by playing a key role in initiating a Community Hospital Elective for Pathology Residents at the Toronto East General Hospital. I look forward to my continued involvement with a Department that has been instrumental in helping me to successfully achieve my career goals.
