I am actively involved in research focused on evaluating diagnostic testing strategies for the purpose of improving patient management and laboratory work flow. This includes the validation and verification of diagnostic testing strategies and equipment, and coordination of industry-sponsored product evaluations. Additionally, I participate in collaborative studies including clinical trials, Toronto Invasive Bacterial Diseases Network studies and the Canadian Nosocomial Infection Surveillance Program collaborations.
I am a Fellow of the Canadian College of Microbiologists, completed a CPEP-accredited Fellowship in Medical and Public Health Microbiology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, hold a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Western University.
