2026 AI in Healthcare Summer Bootcamp for High School Students
From The Temerty Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM) at the University of Toronto.
Registration is now open for students in grades 10 to 12 to join T-CAIREM's Healthcare of the Future Bootcamp: Introducing AI to Tomorrow's Doctors, Nurses, and Coders! Students who have completed grade 9 as of June 2026 and are entering grade 10 in September are also eligible to apply.
Learn how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is changing healthcare and get some hands-on training in this exciting new field from University of Toronto medical students. The Bootcamp consists of interactive workshops and dedicated group work from Monday to Thursday, with final presentations on Friday.
This bootcamp will be taking place in-person. However, there is also a virtual option for students to enroll. The bootcamp will run for five (5) days from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17, 2026.

Overview Day 1 - Introduction to the program, AI, and healthcare

9:00- 10:30 am: Welcome & introduction to T-CAIREM (ice breaker for students to also introduce themselves)
10:30- 11:30 am: What is Artificial Intelligence? What is Machine Learning?
11:30- 12:30 pm: Lunch Break
12:30- 1:00 pm: What problems exist in healthcare, and what could AI do?
1:00 pm- 2:00 pm: Introduction to course project and group introductions
Overview Day 2 - Developing ML for Healthcare with a focus on Deployment
