Speaker bio: Dr. Vathany Kulasingam

Dr. Vathany Kulasingam, PhD, FCACB is Division Head of Clinical Biochemistry at the University Health Network and Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. She co-directs the University of Toronto’s Post-Doctoral Training Program in Clinical Chemistry and has been instrumental in advancing graduate education in proteomics and mass spectrometry. Dr. Kulasingam completed her PhD in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto, followed by postdoctoral training in Clinical Chemistry. Her research leverages high-throughput “omics” approaches—including proteomics and metabolomics—to study disease mechanisms, with a focus on cancer and rheumatic diseases. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has been recognized with numerous grants and awards for her contributions to clinical biochemistry, research, and education.
