Both academic and community pathologists are encouraged to attend this basic course in molecular pathology.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this series of meetings, participants will be able to:
- Understand clinical molecular reports
- Integrate molecular results into their surgical pathology interpretations
- Map the workflow in molecular pathology from specimen handling through sequencing, bioinformatics, interpretation and reporting.
- Select the most suitable molecular assay for a given clinical question
- Understand common preanalytical factors that can impact molecular testing
Also in this session:
- Define key terms in molecular pathology
- Write genomic and protein-level changes using correct HGVS syntax
