Saturday in Pathology: Updates on Gastrointestinal Pathology (a Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center event)

A continuing medical education event for Practicing Pathologists, Fellows and Residents, hosted by Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center.

This seminar will be interactive with adequate time for discussion and comments following each speaker's presentation. The interactive component will comprise at least 25% of the sessions. An audience polling app will be utilized as a form of interactive discussion and testing.

This case-based approach to pathology will go beyond looking at the basics and delve into the clinical and practical relevance of our diagnoses.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • apply molecular biomarker testing to guide target therapies for GI tumors
  • describe an approach for assessment of esophageal biopsy and endoscopic resection specimens from grossing to diagnosis and reporting
  • recognize pertinent features of interesting endoscopic biopsy cases, discuss their differential diagnosis and describe their clinical implications
