Dr. Jan Delabie completed a Residency in Pathology and a PhD in the Departments of Pathology and Genetics at the University of Louvain, Belgium.

In 1993 he became a Research fellow in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE, USA.

He became Assistant Professor of Pathology, University of Leuven in 1995, as well as senior consultant hematopathologist and director of the Laboratory for Molecular Pathology, Department of Pathology, University of Louvain, Belgium

He has been a Senior consultant hematopathologist in the Departments of Pathology at Free University of Brussels, Belgium, and The Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo, Norway, becoming the Vice-chairman, The Department of Pathology, The Norwegian Radium Hospital in 2000.

In 2005 Dr. Delabie became Chair of Haematopathology, University Hospital of Oslo, and in 2006 full professor at the University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway.

He joined the Laboratory Medicine Program, University Health Network, Toronto, Ontario, Canada as Senior consultant hematopathologist in 2013, as well as full professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiololgy at the University of Toronto.
