The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology offers a number of awards given to the top students.
We celebrate some of these awards at our Annual Celebration of Excellence, usually held in June.
Departmental awards
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology offers a number of awards given to the top students. All students will be considered for the Gornall and 3rd Year Prizes: no application is required.
Allan Gornall Testimonal Prize
The Gornall Prize is awarded annually to the graduating student with the highest cumulative GPA.

Temerty Faculty of Medicine Graduate and Life Science Education Leadership Awards
The Office of the Vice Dean, Research and Health Science Education (OVDRHSE) Undergraduate Student Leadership Award in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine will award up to three annual Undergraduate Student Leadership Awards in Life Sciences.
The purpose of these awards is to provide opportunities for our undergraduate students in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, Arts and Science Programs to be recognized for their leadership and scholarship.
GLSE is recognizing these students for their outstanding contributions to academic and student life at the University of Toronto.
The award carries a value of $500 each.
How to apply
Eligibility extends to all undergraduate students who hold full time enrollment in a third or fourth year specialist and/or major program in a Basic Science department and in Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.
Candidates for these awards must be nominated by the undergraduate coordinator through their departmental undergraduate program office.

University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (formerly Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award)

The University of Toronto Student Leadership Awards recognize graduating students for their exemplary contributions and significant impact on U of T and on the university experience of their peers.
