Dr. Steven Zhou is a Hematopathologist and Transfusion Medicine Specialist at North York General Hospital, where he serves as Medical Director of Transfusion Medicine. He holds the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Zhou completed his residency training at the University of Toronto and practices across the fields of bone marrow pathology, lymphoma pathology, and transfusion medicine. His clinical work focuses on the diagnosis and classification of hematologic malignancies, integrating morphology, immunophenotyping, and molecular genetic findings to support patient care.

His research interests include acute myeloid leukemia and its molecular characterization, lymphoid neoplasms and their pathogenesis, and transfusion safety and quality improvement. His academic work aims to advance the understanding of hematologic diseases and improve diagnostic accuracy and transfusion practices through translational and clinically relevant research.
