The trouble with models: cells, animals and simulation (a TR Talk)
Animal models have long been used in biological and medical research to investigate mechanisms and novel therapies before applying discoveries to humans.
However, there are some inherent limitations in the use of animals as models that prevent the translation of results to humans.
Technological advances have brought us alternative translational approaches, including stem cells and organoids, that may better serve as links between bench science and clinical application.
Join TR Talks to discuss the troubles with models.
