Speaker: Dr. Mingxia Gu MD, PhD, FAHA

Dr. Mingxia Gu is an Associate Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine and the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at UCLA. She earned her M.D. from Peking University in Beijing and completed a joint Ph.D. program at Peking University and Stanford University under the mentorship of Dr. Joseph Wu. During her postdoctoral training at Stanford, Dr. Gu focused on the genetics of pulmonary arterial hypertension as an American Heart Association Fellow in Dr. Marlene Rabinovitch’s lab, utilizing patient iPSC-derived vascular cells. The Gu Lab now focuses on leveraging advanced organoid models to investigate early human development, enhance organ regeneration and repair, and develop precision medicine approaches for cardiopulmonary disorders.
