Speaker: Dr. Bo Wang, the inaugural Temerty Professor in AI Research and Education in Medicine and Assistant Professor in LMP
In this talk, Dr. Wang will:
- discuss the opportunities and challenges of AI for organ transplantation
- show a machine-learning model trained on hundreds of ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) cases that accurately predicts lung transplantation outcomes
- present a novel AI system that can seamlessly track longitudinal follow-up data to identify patients at increased risk for complications after liver transplantation.
Dr. Bo Wang is a tenure-track assistant professor with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. He holds a CIFAR AI Chair at the Vector Institute and leads the AI team with the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at the University Health Network.
