Talk 1 (10 - 11am): Business Strategies in the AI and Life Sciences Industry

Speaker: Atoussa Mahmoudpour (B.A., LL.B.)

Atoussa is the national chair of Life Sciences and Technology at Cozen O’Connor Canada, specializing in mergers and acquisitions within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, and telehealth sectors. She provides expertise in cross-border transactions, privacy, and regulatory compliance across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Previously, she served as counsel at a global law firm and as the chief legal and privacy officer for a multibillion-dollar company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. In that role, she advised on corporate governance, compliance, and public reporting while also building relationships with Canadian and U.S. regulators.

Recognized by Legal 500 International and Chambers and Partners, Atoussa has won the Western Canada General Counsel Tomorrow's Leader Award and is a three-time WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award honoree. Fluent in English, French, and Farsi, she combines global expertise with industry-focused insights.

Speaker: Dr. Andrea Wojnicki (MBA, DBA)

Andrea is a renowned executive communication coach, speaker and podcaster. She earned her Doctorate of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where her research focused on consumer psychology and interpersonal communication. Over the course of her career, Andrea taught in the MBA program at the University of Toronto, worked in brand management, and served on several boards.

Today, Andrea coaches and leads workshops for senior leaders around the world on topics such as communicating with confidence, establishing executive presence, and the power of personal branding. She also shares her thought leadership as an Inc. Magazine columnist and as the host of the popular podcast “Talk About Talk,” with over 175 episodes and counting.
