University of Toronto Temerty Faculty of Medicine Research Showcase 2024
For graduate and undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, staff, and faculty in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
You are invited to the second annual Temerty of Medicine Research Showcase. This is an opportunity to connect and learn about research outside of your own department.
Deadline for abstracts and registration: April 19, 2024

Symposia
At registration, undergraduate and graduate trainees, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows are invited to submit poster abstracts. The top 12 abstracts will be selected for presentation during symposium talks at the event. In each symposium room, three presenters will be asked to give a 10-minute talk on their current research. After all presentations, a 15-minute panel discussion will be held involving all presenters in that room. This is an excellent opportunity to present your research to an audience from various technical backgrounds. The best abstract will receive an award at the event!

Poster Sessions
Presenters will be asked to give a summary of their current research with a 36” x 48” poster, followed by questions from their peers, faculty, and judges. Presentations will be judged based on content, structure, delivery, presentation, visual aids, time management, question responses, impact & other categories. Presenters are encouraged to include all necessary background information, methodologies, and conclusions needed to understand the study. Note that you do not need to have results to present a poster, as this session is a great opportunity to present your research (or methodology), with more personal interactions and a great exchange of ideas. Spots are limited for this session and that awards will be given to best presenters!

Research Panels
This engaging session aims to provide attendees with a discussion of research methods, experimental design, troubleshooting strategies, and more. Our panelists, which may consist of trainees, faculty, staff, and core facility personnel, will offer insights on the latest analytical approaches and offer advice on best research practices. Whether you are a novice researcher seeking guidance or a seasoned trainee looking for fresh perspectives, join us for a discussion that is intended to support your journey and foster a community of collaborative learning. Panelists will have a chance to enter a raffle to win a prize!
