Afaf Erfaei
MBBch, FRCPC
Dr. Erfaei obtained her medical degree from Al-Fateh University in Libya.
In 2002 Dr. Erfaei moved to Canada to start her residency at the Ottawa Hospital/University of Ottawa.
She obtained her FRCPC degree in Hematological Pathology in 2006. Afterwards, Dr. Erfaei worked at The Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick and then Toronto General Hospital.
In September, 2013 she joined LifeLabs’ Medical/Scientific team.
Research Synopsis
Dr. Erfaei is currently involved in several projects at LifeLabs including the national hematology platform upgrade project, the provincial hematology total quality management plan, and provincial standardization of blood film reporting. She Also oversee the validation plan for new 10 color Navios flow cytometry.
Areas of special interest/expertise: Medical Laboratory Management, Bone Marrow and Peripheral Blood Morphology, Flow Cytometry and Hemoglobinopathies.
