Dr. Goswami obtained her undergraduate degrees in Genetics and Medical Microbiology from the University of Manitoba and her undergraduate medical degree from the University of Toronto. She subsequently completed her residency in Anatomical Pathology at McGill University.

She returned to the University of Toronto to complete her PhD on microRNAs in the prognosis of mantle cell lymphoma. She went on to obtain clinical subspecialty training in Hematopathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology at the Vancouver General Hospital/British Columbia Cancer Agency and MD Anderson Cancer Center, and holds U.S. board certification in both subspecialties.

Dr. Goswami currently works at the University Health Network as a staff hematopathologist and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology.

Research Synopsis

Primary research interests include:

  1. the application of molecular techniques to assist in the diagnosis and prognosis of solid and hematologic tumours
  2. understanding the genetic and epigenetic landscape of leukemias and lymphomas to determine its impact on disease pathogenesis.
