The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology took time to celebrate its community and recognize excellence at their Annual Celebration of Excellence earlier this month.
Dr. Tony Mazzulli was the host for the evening, following a speech from Department Chair, Dr. Rita Kandel. Chief Resident, Dr. Henry Xie presented the Danny Ghazarian award, voted for by residents, and former Chair, Dr. Richard Hegele, presented the research award in his name.
Students and trainees from all programs joined faculty and staff as the department celebrated graduating classes, promotions, retirements, long service, and handed out the departmental awards for 2023 - 2024. Attendees enjoyed food and drink on the patio afterwards with music from The University of Toronto Faculty of Music and made fun memories in the photo booth.
